Free Yourself Inspired by my previous art journal piece "Fly", I decided to try my hand at painting a sparrow instead of stenciling it. I started out with collaging old papers, some stenciling (#s and circles) and different layers of paint. I'm very pleased with this painting. :0)

Headed East I did the background to this at the same time I did "Free Yourself". Instead of painting the sparrow w/acrylics, I tried my hand at pan pastels. It definitely gives it a softer look. What I loved was being able to make the sparrow a bit translucent so that it...
